Placement test for Japanese Language courses (Semester 2, 2025-26)

Students with prior knowledge of the Japanese language who wish to enroll in the core language courses are required to take a placement test. The purpose of the test is to determine the most suitable course based on the applicant's level.
The test will be conducted online during the following period. An interview may be required in addition to the test.
Start time: January 19, 2026 at 10 am
End time: January 20, 2026 at 1 pm
Please visit the link below and complete the registration from January 9, 2026, at 9 am until January 16, 2026, at 12 noon. You may refer to the level guide on the registration page for the test level you should take.
Students are allowed to register only once. If you need to change your level or cancel your registration, please contact the SMLC office before the deadline. No changes can be made after the registration period.
