Ida Vitale (Montevideo, 2 November 1923) is one of the most distinguished poets of Spanish-speaking literature. A leading figure of the Generación del 45 and recipient of the Miguel de Cervantes Prize, her work has played a decisive role in shaping modern Hispanic literature. This event celebrates her extraordinary legacy through film, critical dialogue and shared reflection.
The film Ida Vitale (2023) is an intimate documentary portrait that explores the poet’s life and work through her own voice. Directed by María Arrillaga and produced by Inés Vázquez, the film offers a rare insight into Vitale’s reflections on memory, language and creativity, bringing audiences closer to one of the most enduring voices of contemporary poetry.
