Applications are invited for appointment as full-time Teaching Assistant in the Common Core Curriculum (China: Culture, State and Society and Global Issues), School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Ref.: SMLC200815) (to commence from September 1, 2020 (or soon thereafter) for six months, with the possibility of renewal)


Applicants should possess a good undergraduate and postgraduate degree (a Master’s degree or Ph.D. candidate with ABD status would be an advantage) in one of the following disciplines: Politics / International Relations / Political Philosophy / Law / Area Studies or a related Social Science / Humanities discipline.  They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English; with very good presentation, interpersonal and IT skills.  They should also be self-motivated and able to work under pressure; and have the ability to work independently and responsibly within a team.   The appointee will be responsible for course organization, teaching of tutorial groups, and marking assignments.  He/She will contribute to teaching as tutor in the following interdisciplinary Common Core Curriculum course for the academic year 2020-2021: CCCH9006 China’s Modernization in the East Asian context  and CCGL9027 Criminal enterprises, clandestine globalization and the illicit world political economy.
