Creative writing and speaking skills in Japanese

Japanese-medium elective

This course aims to enhance writing/speaking skills through various activities such as producing poetry (Haiku and Tanka)/short stories and presenting them orally in Japanese. Students are expected to create their own pieces independently and also collaboratively with others. The knowledge of storytelling types/schema/structure will be introduced. Before oral presentation, students will be given instruction on Japanese phonetics such as rhythm and intonation in order to deliver effectively and creatively. Students who have completed JAPN2061 are not eligible to take this course.
