Profile
LEE Kangsoon is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures. She holds a MA in Korean Studies (Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language) from Ewha Womans University in Seoul and B.B.A. in Business Administration, Sogang University, Korea. She joined the University of Hong Kong in 2009 and established a Major in Korean Studies in 2012.
In the Korean Programme, she has been teaching language courses at all levels, capstone courses, and electives. Examples include KORE4003 Contemporary Korean Society and KORE4005 Advanced readings in Korean, KORE4007 Advanced Korean individual project (capstone experience).
Ms Lee was instrumental in setting up relations between HKU and prestigious universities in Korea, enabling HKU students to attend summer courses or further their studies there. She also approached outside donors for sponsorship which led to the creation of numerous scholarships and internship opportunities for students.
