Dr. Jeong holds Ph.D. in Korean Studies (Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language) from Ewha Womans University in Korea. She is also certified as a Level 1 Korean Language Teacher by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and as a Level 2 Chinese Language Teacher for Secondary Education by the Korean Ministry of Education.
Prior to joining the University of Hong Kong in 2020, Dr. Jeong taught Korean to internationalstudents from diverse backgrounds for over a decade. Her academic specialization is in the acquisition of Korean grammar, with research focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and form-meaning connections. She has also co-authored several books aimed at Korean language learners across primary, secondary, and tertiary education levels, as well as books for Korean language teachers.
