Description
Capstone Experience Course
Japanese language IV (Part 2) is for students who have completed JAPN4088 or have a similar level of proficiency in Japanese. Delivered through lecture and tutorial, the course advances integrated reading, writing, speaking, and listening with authentic materials, seminar-style discussion, and project-based tasks, while continuously applying skills from JAPN4088. As a capstone in the Japanese Language Programme, students synthesize their learning history and articulate post-graduation plans for work, further study, or civic engagement in Japan-related contexts. Students will learn to use AI tools to support brainstorming and idea development, and to plan and produce video-based presentations, with explicit guidance on ethical and responsible use. Typical components include domain-specific readings, professional writing in Japanese, mock interviews, a reflective portfolio, and a final video presentation. When taken beyond core language credit requirements, it counts as a Japanese language elective. Credit transfer is not accepted.
